Первый воркшоп в Сукоке

First workshop in Sukok

NGO Green World Future has hold the first workshop, thanks to which  State Committee on Forestry and US Forest Service united in conservation of  Sukok area for experience exchange.

On September 13-15, a workshop consisting of a number of trainings and seminars was held on the territory of the Sukok forest zone in Parkent district of the Tashkent region. During the process, American colleagues from US Forest Service Leah Lord, Otom Al and Matthew Phillips shared their experiences in creating recreational parks in the United States

“We are pleased to work and share experiences with Uzbek foresters and specialists from recognized parks who have shown great interest in learning how our organization manages its parks, and how park managers in Uzbekistan can apply this experience” said a program manager Ms. Leah Lord..

Recently, the US Forest Service started cooperating with partners throughout the world, including several countries in the African region, to maintain the development of their eco-tourism.

During the seminar, American colleagues raised a complex of issues related to the creation of a recreational area suitable for family recreation in nature - territory planning, design, trail restoration, and the creation of infrastructure.

An important aspect became the orientation of the event to the specific result. In this way, the workshop was held in an interactive format, in which, besides lectures, practical tasks were also presented.

On the first day of training, specialists from the US Forest Service shared their experience in creating and refining national natural parks. The second and third day, by dividing  into teams, participants of the workshop  spent  in the field. They studied the terrain, made organizational plans and got acquainted with the methods of analysis and assessment of the state of the environment. Applying the studied material directly in practice, the staff of the committee also got acquainted with specialized devices, one of which was an inclinometer - a device used to measure the angle of the path.

According to the results of the workshop , each team presented its own version  of  the design on ennobling  the  park and  popularizing it as a recreation area.

Due to the training, the staff of the committee not only adopted valuable experience and knowledge, moreover obtained specific recommendations from foreign colleagues on the creation of a full-fledged recreation area in the reserve.
